Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine continues to lash eastern Cuba and the southern Bahamas with heavy rainfall and gusty winds. Despite the storm not being named Imelda yet, tropical storm warnings are in place for the Bahamas. The storm will batter the nation through the day as it moves toward the Southeast coast, where a landfall across the Southeast is becoming slightly less likely with the recent run of models. The exact track of the storm is still unknown because of several potential driving factors like a stalled frontal boundary that is draped across the Southeast and Hurricane Humberto, which continues to strengthen nearby in the Atlantic. Regardless of whether the storm makes landfall, heavy rainfall could bring flooding to the Southeast and Virginia.
