Tornadoes Are More Powerful Than We Realize


The threat of severe thunderstorms, capable of producing localized damaging wind gusts and a few tornadoes, will persist through Wednesday in parts of the Southeast.

Severe thunderstorms rumbled through southeast Texas Tuesday morning, including the Houston metro area, causing damage in a few spots. 

Roof damage to homes and businesses was reported near Stafford, Texas, from a possible tornado, the National Weather Service says. 



In Matagorda County, Texas, an EF1-rated tornado injured two people and damaged homes near the town of Van Vleck. For more details, see our news article at the link below. An EF-2 tornado was also confirmed south of Rosenberg, Texas.
