After multiple days of heavy rain and rain from Chantal this past weekend, the flood threat continues across the mid-Atlantic and Southeast. Scattered showers and storms will become more widespread during the afternoon and evening hours Thursday and Friday. Some of these storms may turn severe with damaging winds as the main threat. However, flooding is more of a concern due to the recent rainfall and saturated ground, especially across parts of Virginia and the Carolinas.
