Upper Midwest Facing Strong Tornado Threat

April 29, 2025

There is a significant threat of severe weather Monday with the possibility of strong, long-lived tornadoes, especially across the upper Midwest. The threat of severe storms stretches southward across the High Plains and into the Southern Plains as well. Tornadoes, very large hail and damaging winds could impact places like Minneapolis, Des Moines, Chicago, Kansas City, Oklahoma City and St. Louis. Storms are expected to fire up late Monday into the overnight hours, so anyone in the path of potential severe weather should make sure they have a reliable way to get alerts before going to sleep. The threat shifts eastward Tuesday stretching from the Great Lakes to the Southern Plains. Time it out here.
