A multiday severe weather threat will be in place across the northern tier Friday into the weekend. A few scattered storms are forecast to develop across the Dakotas late Friday afternoon into the evening. Wind gusts in excess of 75 mph, along with hail larger than the size of baseballs, will be the main threats, although a few tornadoes will still be possible. Cities most at risk include Bismarck, Aberdeen, Pierre and Valentine. Morning storms on Saturday will determine how much severe activity can fire up late Saturday into Saturday night across South Dakota and Minnesota. The severe weather threat shifts east into Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on Sunday.
