Few Tornadoes, Large Hail, Damaging Winds Possible

March 26, 2026

A strong cold front will bring a risk for severe storms across much of the southern Great Lakes and Ohio Valley Thursday afternoon into Thursday night. A level 3 out of 5 severe threat includes places like Indianapolis, Columbus, Fort Wayne and Peoria. Hail larger than golf balls, winds in excess of 75 mph and a few tornadoes will all be possible. Thunderstorms moving over the same areas repeatedly could also lead to flooding. Make sure you have multiple ways to receive warnings since the severe threat will continue while you are sleeping.
