The severe weather threat has increased to a level 4 out of 5 across the Central Plains on Tuesday. Damaging winds in excess of 75 mph, very large hail and a few tornadoes will all be possible, with places like Wichita, Garden City and Dodge City most at risk. The next round will arrive Tuesday evening and continue into Wednesday morning, so make sure you have a way to get warnings while you are sleeping. Locally heavy rain could also lead to flash flooding. The severe weather threat shifts east on Wednesday and includes Chicago, Indianapolis and St. Louis.
