Severe thunderstorms are producing tornadoes, destructive straight-line winds and large hail across the South as flooding rain takes aim at the Ohio Valley.

H​ere's what's happening right now. A broad area of rain and a few thunderstorms stretches across the Deep South.

S​evere potential on Saturday will be several steps down compared to Friday night.

Watches and warnings are issued by NOAA.

A​ strong tornado (likely EF3+) touched down near Rolling Fork, Mississippi, Friday evening. The strong tornado moved northeastward likely near Silver City and Winona. The same thunderstorm produced a strong tornado in northeast Mississippi near Amory and Smithville, Mississippi.

An EF1 tornado caused damage near Poolville, Texas, on Friday morning and two flooding deaths have been reported overnight in Wright County, Missouri.
