Sunday night turned chaotic in Baxter Springs, Kansas, when an EF-2 tornado slammed the town, leaving at least 25 people injured and nearly 100 homes and businesses damaged. Baxter Springs, a town of about 4,100, was hit by the tornado at roughly 5:45 p.m. Sunday night, when many people were in their homes at the week's end. One death was reported by emergency managers Sunday night, but they also noted it was unclear if the death was caused by the tornado or if it occurred in the aftermath of the storm.
