Just five days after snow fell in Chicagoland, severe thunderstorms with large hail raked through the western and southern parts of the Chicago area Tuesday evening.

The largest hail pelted Naperville and Aurora, Illinois. Ironically, another suburb named Aurora – in Colorado near Denver – had just taken a beating from hail a few hours earlier.
