A tornado was confirmed on live television Sunday evening in Linn County, Kansas, as it hit a rural area near the Kansas-Missouri state line, south of Kansas City. KMBC's Johnny Rowlands recalls what it was like to watch a tornado develop right before his eyes after he captured these images of the twister in progress about 5:45 p.m. local time. Linn County authorities said the tornado destroyed an historic church and a business but caused no serious injuries. The tornado was spotted near Prescott, Kansas, but damage was limited to farm structures and trees, KMBC reported.
