Winter Storm Petros brought swaths of snow to parts of the Midwest, Great Lakes and Northeast.

Winter Storm Petros affected areas from the Midwest to the Northeast between Feb. 23 and 25, 2016. The heaviest snow was reported in Indiana and Michigan, where some locations observed more than a foot of snow.

As much as 17 inches of snow fell in Indiana, with over a half foot in parts of Michigan, Illinois, northern Arkansas and eastern Missouri. The combination of snow and strong winds caused power outages in the St. Louis metro and parts of central Illinois. In northwestern Indiana, blizzard conditions were reported Wednesday afternoon and evening and many vehicles were stuck or stranded.

Generally light amounts of snow were reported in the Northeast, as Petros tracked well inland, which caused warm air to surge northward. This changed snow and ice over to rain in parts of Pennsylvania, New York and New England.

Arkansas: 8.5 inches at Queen Wilhelmina State Park; 8 inches at Mt. Magazine
Connecticut: 2.8 inches in Litchfield; 2 inches in New Fairfield
Illinois: 7.8 inches in Crete and 7.5 inches in Grant Park
Indiana: 17 inches near la Porte; About a tenth of an inch of ice near Marion and New Haven
Maine: 8 inches at Madawaska; Up to 0.7 inches of ice in East Sangerville
Massachusetts: 1 inch in Hopkinton and Framingham; A tenth of an inch of ice in Worcester
Michigan: 14 inches in Riverdale and 12 inches near Presque Isle
Missouri: 8 inches in High Ridge; 6.5 inches in Ellisville
New Hampshire: 2 inches in West Unity; About a quarter of an inch of ice near Alexandria
New Jersey: Light icing in Wantage and Sussex
New York: 2.6 inches in La Grange; Around 0.61 inches of ice in Massena
Ohio: 5 inches near Chardon; Just under 0.2 inches of ice on tree limbs near Pettisville
Pennsylvania: 3 inches near Northeast.
Vermont: 2 inches in St. Albans; About 0.44 inches of ice at Knapp State Airport
West Virginia: 2 inches at Hendricks and Thomas.
