Triple Weather Threat Possible Across The South

February 12, 2025

The firehose of moisture from the Gulf will stay on full blast across the South through Thursday. The days of rain could result in flooding from the Deep South to the southern Appalachians, including areas destroyed by Hurricane Helene near Asheville. Other communities that will need to be on guard for flooding include Shreveport, Jackson, Birmingham, Atlanta and Knoxville. Tornadoes and damaging wind gusts are also possible for parts of the region. The South will get a brief reprieve on Friday before another system moves in for the weekend.
