Plains, Great Lakes: Winter Storm Threat This Week

March 4, 2025

This week Winter Storm Lola will serve as a reminder that astronomical winter has not yet ended. The system will bring the threat of heavy snow and blizzard conditions to the Central Plains and Great Lakes early to midweek. Winds in portions of Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas and South Dakota could gust up to 70 mph. Widespread snow totals of 3-5 inches are expected with over a foot possible for parts of the Great Lakes. The strong wind in conjunction with the snow could cause whiteout conditions across the region.
