Description

Strong winds that may cause damage are expected. What: Southwesterly winds gusting up to 90 km/h. Where: South Thompson, Shuswap, Nicola, Coquihalla Highway - Merritt to Kamloops, Okanagan Connector - Merritt to Kelowna. When: This afternoon until early this evening. Remarks: A strong frontal system crossing the interior today will bring strong southwesterly winds gusting to 70 to 90 km/h. Winds will weaken below warning criteria by the evening but remain gusty. Recreational boaters are advised to take precaution and be prepared for sudden wind gusts across area lakes. ### Local utility outages are possible. High-sided vehicles will be pushed around by the wind. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
