WHAT...For the Small Craft Advisory, Rough bar conditions due to a strong ebb current of 6.08 kt at 818 AM Monday. Seas 8 ft. North winds 10 to 15 kt. For the Gale Watch, seas 8 to 13 ft at 11 seconds and south winds 25 to 35 kt with gusts up to 40 kt possible. Ebb tide cycles may lead to locally higher seas. WHERE...In the Main Channel of the Columbia River Bar. WHEN...Small Craft Advisory, until 11 AM PDT this morning. Gale Watch, from late tonight through Tuesday evening. IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Gale Watch is issued when the risk of gale force winds of 34 to 47 knots has significantly increased, but the specific timing and/or location is still uncertain. It is intended to provide additional lead time for mariners who may wish to consider altering their plans.
