WHAT...For the Small Craft Advisory, Rough bar conditions expected, with seas 8 to 13 ft at 12 seconds and south winds 15 to 25 kt. For the Gale Watch, seas 9 to 10 ft at 9 seconds and east winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 35 kt possible. WHERE...In the Main Channel of the Columbia River Bar. WHEN...Small Craft Advisory, until 10 PM PST Tuesday. Gale Watch, from late Tuesday night through Wednesday afternoon. IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong First ebb current of 5.62 kt at 549 PM Monday. Seas 12 to 15 ft. Second Ebb current of 2.83 kt at 635 AM Tuesday. Seas 10 to 11 ft. Third Ebb current of 5.41 kt at 624 PM Tuesday. Seas 8 to 9 ft. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Gale Watch is issued when the risk of gale force winds of 34 to 47 knots has significantly increased, but the specific timing and/or location is still uncertain.
