WHERE...The island of Maui in Maui County. WHEN...Until 730 PM HST. IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 549 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain has briefly decreased over Maui. Additional bands of moderate to locally heavy rain is expected to move in from the south over the next hour. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Kahului, Kihei, Lahaina, Kula, Pukalani, Makawao, Keokea, Haliimaile, Paia, Puunene, Haiku-Pauwela, Wailea, Pauwela, Maalaea, Ulupalakua, Huelo, Makena, Waikapu, Wailuku and Waiehu. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding. A Flood Watch is also in effect for Maui until Sunday 6PM HST. WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. WHERE...The island of Oahu in Honolulu County, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe, and the Big Island. WHEN...Through Sunday afternoon. IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow of streams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, along with property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff. Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A kona low developing west of the islands will draw abundant moisture northward as it strengthens and eventually departs to north early next week. Several rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall are anticipated. The heaviest rain is expected from Friday night through Saturday, except for the Big Island where the heaviest rain is expected on Sunday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
