...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM MST THIS EVENING... WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. WHERE...Western Pima County in southeastern Arizona, including Covered Wells and Mountain Village... WHEN...Until 1000 PM MST. IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 832 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... San Luis Wash, Santa Rosa Wash, Sikul Himatk Wash, Quijotoa Wash and San Simon Wash. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Covered Wells and Mountain Village. - This includes Route 86 between mile markers 88 and 96. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
