...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM HST EARLY THIS MORNING FOR THE ISLAND OF MOLOKAI IN MAUI COUNTY... ...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING... WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall. WHERE...The island of Molokai in Maui County. WHEN...Until 400 AM HST. IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 205 AM HST, radar indicated moderate to heavy rainfall over portions of the island, with rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Water levels in the Halawa and Kawela streams have leveled off from the elevated levels earlier. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... The entire island of Molokai. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding. This advisory may need to be extended beyond 400 AM HST if flooding; persists.; This Flood Advisory replaces the previously issued Flash Flood; Warning that was in effect for The island of Molokai in Maui County.

WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. WHERE...The island of Oahu in Honolulu County, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe, and the Big Island. WHEN...Through Sunday afternoon. IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow of streams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, along with property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff. Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A kona low developing west of the islands will draw abundant moisture northward as it strengthens and eventually departs to north early next week. Several rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall are anticipated. The heaviest rain is expected from Friday night through Saturday, except for the Big Island where the heaviest rain is expected on Sunday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
