...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM TO 10 PM MDT SATURDAY FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE I-25 CORRIDOR, PALMER DIVIDE, AND NORTHEAST PLAINS ALONG I-76... The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 2 PM to 10 PM MDT Saturday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 239, 240, 241, 243, 244, 245, 248 and 250. TIMING...From 2 PM to 10 PM MDT Saturday. WINDS...West 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 3 percent. IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread. Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

...WIDESPREAD CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS PEAKING SATURDAY... All-time record March heat, exceptionally low humidity, and periods of breezy winds will continue to drive critical fire weather conditions through Saturday. Today, the highest fire danger will be localized to the Cheyenne Ridge and vicinity where winds will be strongest. Breezy winds will become expansive on Saturday coinciding with highly anomalous heat and single-digit humidity, extending into the foothills and high mountain valleys.
