WHERE...The island of Maui in Maui County. WHEN...Until 200 PM HST. IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. Water over roadways. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1048 AM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over Maui. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Kahului, Kihei, Lahaina, Kula, Pukalani, Makawao, Keokea, Haliimaile, Paia, Puunene, Haiku-Pauwela, Wailea, Pauwela, Maalaea, Huelo, Ulupalakua, Makena, Waikapu, Wailuku and Waiehu. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding. This advisory may need to be extended beyond 200 PM HST if flooding; persists.
