At 539 PM HST, radar indicated heavy showers and thunderstorms redeveloping over West Maui, with rain falling at rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Flooding remains ongoing. Stream levels remain high across West Maui, and emergency management recently reported road closures in the Lahaina, Kahului, and Wailuku areas. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flooding in drainages, streams, rivers, roads, properties, and other low-lying areas. Public road closures possible in some areas. Landslides are possible in steep terrain.
