...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL TOMORROW AFTERNOON... WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. WHERE...Snohomish River at Snohomish. WHEN...Until tomorrow afternoon. IMPACTS...At 30.0 feet, the Snohomish River will flood low farm lands and several roads...including Riverview Rd and the Snohomish-Monroe highway. Hide tidal levels could worsen flooding on the lower delta and Ebey Island. Levees may be damaged. Berms start overtopping at this level. Flooding will occur all along the river including headwaters...tributaries...and other streams within and near the Snohomish River Basin. This stage on the Snohomish River corresponds to a Phase 4 in the Snohomish County flood program. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 AM PDT Saturday the stage was 30.7 feet. - Flood stage is 25.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:00 AM PDT Saturday was 30.7 feet. - Forecast...The river will fall below flood stage late tomorrow morning to 17.6 feet early Tuesday morning. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 30.4 feet on 01/17/1974. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

WHEN...Until early tomorrow afternoon. IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, the Snohomish River will cause major flooding...inundating farm land...roads...and some residential areas. Levees will likely suffer damage. Flooding will occur all along the river including headwaters...tributaries...and other streams within and near the Snohomish River Basin. A stage of 17 feet at this location corresponds to Phase 2 in the Snohomish County Flood Warning System. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:15 AM PDT Saturday the stage was 18.1 feet. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:15 AM PDT Saturday was 18.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight and return to action stage by late Sunday night.
