HAZARD...Flash flooding from the imminent failure of Wahiawa Dam. SOURCE...Emergency management. IMPACT...Flooding of areas downstream from the Wahiawa Dam along the Kaukonahua Stream. The nearest downstream area from the dam is Waialua, Haleiwa, and Kaukonahua Stream. This includes the following streams and drainages... Poamoho Stm- Dole Fields, Poamoho Stm- Kaukonahua Hwy, Kaukonahua Stm- Schofield, Mohiakea Gul, Waialua Town, Kaukonahua Stm- N Fork Wahiawa, Kaukonahua Stm- Wahiawa, Kiikii Stm- Waialua, Helemano/Opaeula Stm- Haleiwa, Kaukonahua Stm- Waialua and Anahulu R- Haleiwa. The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended the Flash Flood Warning for... The island of Oahu in Honolulu County Until 1100 AM HST. At 747 AM HST, emergency management continued to report road closures across Oahu due to recent flooding. Additional bands of heavy showers and thunderstorms continue to pass over the southeast half of Oahu, with rain rates as high as 1 to 2 inches per hour. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Emergency management. IMPACT...Flooding in drainages, streams, rivers, roads, properties, and other low-lying areas. Public road closures possible in some areas. Landslides are possible in steep terrain. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... the entire Island of Oahu. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Stay away from streams, rivers, drainage ditches, and culverts, even if they are currently dry. Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on foot. Turn around, don't drown. This warning may need to be extended beyond 1100 AM HST if flooding; persists.; FLASH FLOOD...OBSERVED

WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. WHERE...The island of Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe, Maui, and the Big Island. WHEN...Through Sunday afternoon. IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow of streams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, along with property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff. Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A kona low developing west of the islands will draw abundant moisture northward as it strengthens and eventually departs to north early next week. Several rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall are anticipated. The heaviest rain is expected to last through tonight, except for the Big Island where the heaviest rain is expected on Sunday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
