Description

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Gosford, Sydney, Wollongong, Scone, Penrith and Parramatta. 96 km/h wind gust recorded at Mudgee at 4:47 pm. 93 km/h wind gust recorded at Coonamble at 4:30 pm. 115 km/h wind gust recorded at Dubbo at 3:39 pm. 96 km/h wind gust recorded at Cobar at 1:53 pm.

Description

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 5:55 pm, a severe thunderstorm likely to produce damaging winds was detected near Sutherland, Richmond and Liverpool. This thunderstorm is moving towards the east. It is forecast to affect Hornsby, Parramatta, Sydney City, Sydney Airport, Mona Vale, Sydney Olympic Park, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and waters off Bondi Beach by 6:25 pm and Gosford, Calga and Woy Woy by 6:55 pm.

Description

DAMAGING SOUTHERLY WIND GUSTS with peak gusts of around 100 km/h are likely to develop over parts of the Snowy Mountains and South Coast from Friday morning, before spreading northwards into the remainder of the warning area on Friday afternoon. Wind gusts along the coastal fringe of the South Coast and Illawarra may reach 110 km/h during Friday afternoon. DAMAGING WINDS averaging 80 to 90 km/h are possible over the alpine areas above 1900 m on Friday morning and afternoon. Conditions are expected to ease below warning thresholds throughout by late Friday evening or early Saturday morning. A separate Coastal Hazard Warning for DAMAGING SURF is current.
